I am a triple negative breast cancer patient who underwent chemotherapy, electrotherapy, and surgery to remove breast and axillary lymph tissue a year ago. Recently, during a follow-up visit, I discovered a recurrence of breast cancer and am currently undergoing chemotherapy with Gemcitabine and Carboplatin. May I ask what factors caused my recurrence in a short period of time? Can electrotherapy be used to prevent recurrence? 13/09/2024

My mother has been diagnosed with breast cancer, but the hospital test results don't even show the stage. The doctor says she needs a mastectomy (and a full mastectomy) to find out the stage. I want to ask if it's absolutely necessary to have the mastectomy done before finding out the stage? How long does it usually take for her to recover and be discharged from the hospital after surgery? (She is 60 years old and has diabetes.) 22/07/2024
I found a lump in my left breast and had surgery to preserve my breast (removal of the lump and lymph node examination). The doctor said it was stage 1 breast cancer with no lymph node spread, but I need to have 4 rounds of chemotherapy and 30 rounds of radiotherapy. I would like to know what chemotherapy drugs are available? Which one is less painful? 14/07/2024
I am 65 years old and have had mild to moderate lower back pain and urinary difficulty for about a year. I had a CT scan at Queen's Hospital on July 2nd. On August 14th, the doctor informed me of a 2.6 cm tumor below my right kidney. Preliminary imaging suggests it may be renal cell carcinoma, but it hasn't spread to the lymph nodes or liver. I am currently scheduled for a follow-up appointment at the Urology Department of Queen's Hospital on September 26th. I am a stroke survivor with left hemiplegia, but I can get out of bed and manage basic daily life and walk with a cane. Am I a suitable candidate for surgical removal of the tumor? How is cancer diagnosed before surgery? Which private medical institutions in Hong Kong offer services for cancer cell diagnosis, tissue sampling, or surgical removal? 05/04/2024

My elderly relative has invasive ductal carcinoma in the central region of the breast, nonspecific type, histological grade II. The cancer has spread to the fat and superficial dermis, with approximately 5% lymphocytes. It also has ductal carcinoma in situ (CTC), grade II. One of the 16 lymph nodes taken from the axilla has ITC. Pathological staging: pT2NO(ITC)Mx, ER-a positive 90%, PR positive 90%, HER2 1+, Ki-67 positive 20-30%, p53 positive 15%. She is very resistant to chemotherapy, so she opted for genetic testing, which showed a low-risk result. I would like to ask the doctor if it is possible to choose not to undergo chemotherapy? 29/02/2024
