The United Cancer Centre in Hong Kong has introducedthe new LUCENCE INSIGHT™ cancer screening test, which uses next-generation sequencing (NGS) technology to screen for multiple cancers. It can detect eight high-risk cancers simultaneously with just one blood draw, including lung cancer, breast cancer, colorectal cancer, prostate cancer, liver cancer, nasopharyngeal carcinoma, bile duct cancer and pancreatic cancer. 

Simultaneously, it utilizes proprietary amplicon technology for cancer screening, boasting excellent screening performance, high sensitivity, and a specificity of up to 99.2%. This test detects early signs of cancer by analyzing genomic data extracted from the blood and accurately identifies and locates the intensity of these signals to predict the origin of cancer, achieving a tumor origin tracing accuracy of up to 90%.

It is recommended that people over 40 years of age or those with a family history of hereditary cancers consider genetic testing, even if they do not have any cancer symptoms, as a preventative measure.
